Hi everyone! Have a nice month! Oh, well.. Almost there! September is upon us (and winter is coming!) and I hope everything is well for you. I've been meaning to post earlier this week, as I have so many things to share with you, but I was in the process of moving out and sadly I am still looking for a place to settle in.

Luckily, amazing friends have been helping me out with moving my things and hosting me, so I'm definitely baking them something to thank them for their immense help. Same goes for me, I have to treat myself! When in stress, I believe that comfort food plays an important role; for me, even the process of making something is therapeutic and relaxing.

In the few moments that I got to relax and take a breath, I realised that new ceilings can be funny to look at until you get used to them. You get to watch how each crack changes as the light of the day progresses. Good weather is still a thing, so we had some wonderful sun over the last days. I am really glad that the last days of August were sunny and warm.

The weekend was full of amazing events, so I had to choose between a few. I visited the Byres Road Makers Market at Hillhead Library, which is on every last Saturday of each month. I enjoyed having a look at handmade jewellery and clothes, crochet toys and decorations and, of course... sweets!

From the left to the right: toffee popcorn cupcakes, empire biscuits and oh... Tunnock's cupcakes. Enough said. Or rather not, because some of you still don't know what Tunnock's means and it is my duty to enlighten you. Caramel wafers by Tunnock's - with 5 layers of wafer, 4 layers of caramel - are the most scrumptious wafers I have tasted and I also love them because they are Scottish. This was the first time I tried them on a cupcake though!

Next, I visited the Over the Wall Festival, which takes place every summer at Kelvinside. The place was buzzing with people of all ages, music, fun activities and deLizious food. I was overly excited about the marquees, as I haven't been to anything like this before.

All the baked goods were a huge plus for the festival, but the real reason I was there was the Glasgow Piano City marquee, where we got to play some lovely tunes.

I hadn't tried a Samick before, let alone playing outdoors! With the front board being taken off, the sound of it just flooded the place, loud and clear - I just couldn't get enough of that piano!

Glasgow Piano City is a wonderful project that started 3 years ago with the purpose of giving the opportunity to everyone to be able to play and listen to pianos all over the city.

I have participated in 2 of their events so far and I can honestly say that I am looking forward to the next one. Last time, I had the opportunity to play a fantastic Steinway Grand, which gave me the chills with its beauty.

In the right picture, Tom is playing a lovely tune - Tom is behind this idea and is doing a fantastic job in organising everything.

You can have a look of what it is about and support the cause on their website.

I hope you agree that this weekend couldn't have been fuller of amazing sounds, tastes and heartwarming weather! Until my next post, I'm saying goodbye with a red velvet cupcake!

Enjoy the transition from August to September and, whatever that might entail for you, make the most out of it and... smile! See you!
